Our
Story

The TPMBA was formed in 2021 to further the sport of mountain biking on the Tasman and Forestier Peninsula. The initial objective was to campaign for a world-class trail network to be established on the hills behind Taranna.

Throughout this process, the club obtained a lease of 100 acres of private land in Taranna to develop into a micro trail network for club members.

The not-for-profit club charges $50 annual membership for access to this network, funds go to service costs of the lease and insurance, as well as professional consultants to develop the trail network.

Trails are constructed by the community, with monthly “Dig Days” attracting up to 50 participants, including many that do not intend to ride the trails but enjoy being involved in a community project.

In October 2024 the club held its first Open Day, attracting 150+ attendees. Since then, the club and private network has been featured in local and national media including:

13 Bayview Road, Taranna, Tasmania, 7180
